GETTING NAILED.

Fall is officially here and while many women are pounding the pavement in search of this season's "it" boots, fur vests, and Marc Jacobs cargo jacket, one little thing is often overlooked- nail polish. Yes, ladies! (and gents who love to dab in a little nail art) Nail polish is just as important and fashionable as your newest pair of opaque tights. Nail polish might be a small accessory, but it makes a BOLD statement. Did I mention it's also inexpensive? And just imagine how GLAM-AZING those nails will look against a shiny new Chanel or for the stylish recessionista, a leather satchel from Coach's latest collection?

So many new colors have hit the shelves for the cool season and I already have some favorites I'd love to share with you! The dark shades are back- bigger and better than ever. The purples and burgundies are making a splash on the scene. And for those ladies who rather keep it warm and conservative with just a hint of color, there are some fabulous nudes and beiges that will go perfectly with any wardrobe. And let's not forget the metallics. So let's break it down.

DARK GREY

I'm officially obsessed with Essie's Power Clutch, so much so, that I bought my own bottle in case the salons do not carry it. I'm actually wearing it right now. It is the most impeccable shade of grey and really coordinates well with any outfit. Plus it's glamorous! I'm all about dark colors. I'm a loyal fan of Chanel's Black Satin; I can't live without it. But it looks like Power Clutch is a close second. I haven't tried this one but it's next on my list- Uh Oh Roll down the window (NY, NY) from OPI's Tour America Collection, which is absolutely brilliant! I would say its a bit grayish, a bit greenish. Almost like smog. And no one does smog chic like New York City!

GREENS

We saw green make an appearance in the fall of 2009 with OPI's Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow. I lived for that nail color. Green can be a tricky color. It's not usually aesthetic on nails because it can look sickly or slimy. Now in 2011, the greens are more fashion forward. Two colors on my radar right now are Deborah Lippman's Millionaire and MAC's Deep Sea. They're rich, edgy, and unapologetically chic.

PURPLES AND REDS

Some ladies can never give up their beloved reds but this season, take a little risk and get a little wild, sexier even, with a burnt burgundy. Essie's Carry-On (so appropriately named) is the perfect shade. This color is a definite head turner! The purples we saw on the runways are daring but fun! These promising eggplant shades are toasty and scrumptious. So vibrant! Play it up with Zoya's Petra or OPI's Honk if you Love OPI (Baltimore, MD).

NUDES AND BEIGES

It's okay if you aren't dying over the dark and groovy shades this season. Maybe you are more subtle and that's alright. There are some light colors you can rock with confidence and style! One of those being Essie's Glamour Purse. A pinkish beige that is a great neutral staple for any fall closet. It's a silent showstopper!

METALLICS

You are on a mission to get noticed and a metallic shade is blinding! Chanel takes the cake this season with three very different shades of metallic sure to fit every woman's personality. Graphite is a metallic black for all you dark nail lovers. The shine gives it an extra rock and roll touch. For the ladies who love the nudes and beiges but want to dress it up a notch, Quartz is the look for you. Peridot is all about the bling bling with its shiny gold tint. Wear at your own risk because these colors are fierce!
